This class has changed my view on how I thought I would eventually run my classroom. Before this class I had never considered incorporating a blog into my class. I was planning on teaching very traditionally with students taking notes from the board and working independently on assignments. Now my whole plan has changed. I can see myself using a Smart technology and allowing my students to learn through lots of interaction. I will definitely have a blog in my class. It is so easy to communicate information to my students as well as for me to grade their work. Plus, it is eco-friendly! The multiple web tools we learned about I before thought would clog my classroom with confusion, but now I understand the enhancement of learning and entertainment it would bring to my classroom. I can’t wait to learn more about the opportunities technology can bring to my classroom and continue evolving as an educator!
Blogging is something I would like to include in my teaching career. I think it brings a variety of positive aspects to the classroom. Having a classroom blog allows teachers to distribute information to students in an environmentally friendly and fast way. No paper is used and information can be received immediately on a phone or computer. It allows teachers to students information quickly as well as allow students to be introduced to a broader information base, the internet. It is a great way to communicate for both students and teachers and is a great exercise for students to practice their digital citizenship. I have enjoyed my experience with WordPress and would probably use this site to create my own class blog!
Upon studying for my ECS 110 midterm I came across this video and many more like it with the same results. It astonished me to the choices the children made and so subliminally. I cannot imagine myself making the same choices as these children when I was a little girl but the children don’t seem to know what they are doing intentionally and this test was conducted many years ago and has been repeated several times after with the same results occurring. This video definitely serves as some food for thought.
